Department of English
The Department of
English orientates the students to become capable writers; develops
their critical thinking, confidence and linguistic proficiency; and
promotes multicultural awareness, understanding and amity among them.
After completion of the academic programmes, the students are able to
communicate effectively in English, both orally and verbally. They also
enable the students to use critical concepts and terminology with a
clear understanding and become useful for the country in various fields.

The faculty of the
Department is also responsible for teaching the compulsory subject of
English to all BS (Hons) students of the University. Similarly, they
also teach the compulsory subject of English/Communication Skills to all
MA/MSc students.
