The Directorate of External Linkages & Cooperation, University of Gujrat
has been moving vigorously to explore and establish linkages between
University of Gujrat and both national and international educational
institutions/organizations. The following ones are in progress.
1.
Victoria University, Australia
Representatives of University of Gujrat and Victoria University,
Melbourne, Australia held a series of discussions pertaining to the
desirability and feasibility of a formal relationship aimed at
strengthening the bonds between the two academic institutions. The two
parties developed an MoU which is meant to explore and promote faculty
exchange, qualification improvement, curriculum development and research
in areas of mutual interest. Initially, it will focus on Allied Health
Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Modern Languages
and Product Design & Development.
2. University of Central Lancashire, (Preston) UK
The Directorate of External Linkages & Cooperation, University of Gujrat
coordinated a five days (Dec 17-21, 2007) official visit of UOG
delegation consisting of Prof.
Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin, Vice Chancellor and Director, External Linkages
& Cooperation, to University of Central Lancashire, (Preston) UK. It
proved to be a landmark development as the two universities explored and
identified a variety of areas of mutual interest and bilateral
cooperation. The major objectives were to signing of the MoU,
hold discussions on Global Youth Leadership (GYL) and establishment of a
Centre for Global Citizenship at UOG, CPD and Training of teachers in
Pakistan, Development of UOG faculty through higher education (M
Phil/PhD) at UCLAN, joint degree programs in selected disciplines and
strengthening of Modern Languages & Learning Centre (MLLC) and
establishment of IELTS Centre at UOG.
