Iqbal Day Celebrations at Hafiz Hayat Campus
Iqbal’s
teaching can serve a blueprint for constructing Pakistan
a modern Islamic welfare state. Iqbal interpreted the
Islamic principal in pragmatic and progressive manner.
“Iqbal’s Reconstruction of Religious Thoughts in Islam”
can help developing Pakistan a leading nation among the
Islamic world. University of Gujrat in its Social
Sciences Research Center will facilitate the research
opportunities for exploring more avenues of philosophy
and thoughts of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal. These views
were expressed by the Vice Chancellor University of
Gujrat Prof. Dr. Nizamuddin while delivering the
presidential address in the seminar commemorating Iqbal
Day here at Hafiz Hayat Campus, University of Gujrat.
The seminar
on “Iqbal and challenges faced by Pakistan” was
organized by the Additional Director, External Linkages,
Shahid Minhas. Renowned researcher on Iqbaliat Brig (retd)
Taimoor Afzal was a key note speaker and the chief guest
on the occasion. Mr. Taimoor while throwing light on the
Iqbal’s thoughts and philosophy said it is unfortunate
that Iqbal’s thoughts and philosophy were
misinterpreted. He said that monarchs and mullah since
the inception of Islamic state misguided the masses in
this regard. Allama Muhammad Iqbal initiated the
dialogue and reinterpretation of Islamic principles, he
added.
Director Planning and Development Prof. Shabbir Hussain
Shah while addressing the seminar said it is imperative
to understand the sprit of Iqbal’s massage. He said that
Iqbal’s massage should be exploited to reform the
society. He said that Iqbal massage should be used to
reconstruct various institutions of the state. Different
students presented Kalam-e-Iqbal in melodious voice.
