    Awareness Lecture on Diabetes at Nawaz Sharif Medical College
Life is precious and God-gifted. Every individual’s life also has its significance for other relations in a society. Life can only be made pleasant and viable by managing it in accordance with the prescribed pattern of the medical sciences. Medical science has made human life more dynamic and viable. “Cure is better than prevention” is the principle of managing diseases like diabetes and help leading a pleasant life. This is all to help save human sources in different forms. This is the strategy which saves resources that can be used in other useful sectors. These views were shared by the Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin while addressing as a chief guest at Nawaz Sharif Medical College, University of Gujrat.

Department of Community Medicine and Behavioral Sciences have arranged this awareness lecture. While welcoming the guest speakers and audience, principal of Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC), Mr. Nasir Aziz said that the research in medical sciences is a continuous process and it is very vital to exchange its findings at all professional fora. While talking on the root causes and effects of diabetes on a human body, Prof. Aziz said that it affects all vital systems of the human body. While prescribing the curative measures of the disease, Mr. Nasir explained that diabetes is completely curable. A common man can understand its symptoms and can learn the techniques of its treatment.

The guest speaker, Mr. Haider Asad Ullah Malik in his lecture explained the phenomenon of disease with latest findings extensively. He explained all the related factors of the human body responsible for causing diabetes. While suggesting the curable techniques, he advised that a routine of brisk walk for about 20 minutes daily with the controlled diet of fats can help prevent disease. He explained various related physiological phenomena affecting the human body affected by diabetes. Another guest speaker, Dr. Nusrat Riaz, Medical Superintendent of Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital Gujrat explained the disease and its remedy extensively. He also prescribed various curative measures for curing diabetes. He advised for the lifestyle modifications as the weapon against diabetes. Assistant Professor of Community Medicine Department at the College, Dr. Sumair Anwar also explained the findings leading to result diabetes and also narrated many curative methodologies. While concluding the proceedings, Head of Department of Community Medicines and Behavioral Sciences, Syed Makhdoom Ali Shah thanked Vice Chancellor, guest speakers, students and general audience with a pledge of more discussion and thoughts on the latest research in the field of medical sciences.
