FDRC (Faculty Development Resource Centre)
Faculty Development Resource Centre (FDRC) at university of Gujrat aims
to support UOG’s faculty, academia and administrative staff in their
ongoing quest for excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and
leadership through
Continues Professional
Development.
CPD provides a set
of principles for Faculty development:

Focuses on teachers as central to student learning.

Focuses on individual, collegial, and organizational improvement.

Respects and nurtures the intellectual and leadership capacity of
individuals within the institutional community.

Reflects best available research and practice in teaching, learning,
and leadership.

Enables teachers to develop further expertise in subject content,
teaching strategies, and technology.

Promotes continuous inquiry and improvement.

Involves collaborative planning.

Requires substantial time and other resources.

Driven by a
coherent long-term plan; and is assessed by its impact on teacher
effectiveness and student learning.
To accomplish the above, FDRC will offer a broad range of support of on
going seminars and programs, services, and resources in the following
strands:
Faculty development.
Research management.
Promoting the research attitude.
Research methodologies and use of contemporary statistical application
tools.
Organizational / Leadership Development.
FDRC also focuses:

To ensure best practice in training and development by:
Identify and implement International standards for trainings.
Researching and bench-marking on a continuous basis
Provide accredited professional program in training and personal
development
Influencing key stakeholders/policy makers.

To support members by:
Providing a basis for member certification in a way that enhances
continuing professional development and thus better result.
Organizing members into active networks, nationally, regionally and
internationally.
