Academic Staff Boycott Teaching Activity

The University of Gujrat academic staff association started protest by suspending the class work in its main campus and the constituent colleges. The leadership of the association has urged the government to fulfill the financial demands of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The association has shown determination to continue the protest till the fulfillment of the demands of the commission. While talking to the representative of the local media they said that the governments of the developing countries now a day have started giving special attention to enhance the quality of education while the Pakistan is the country where the focus on higher education has continuously been deteriorating. Meanwhile student activists from different student organizations have also shown resentment over the suspension of the funds to the HEC. They demanded the government to take notice of the financial crises of the Commission which ultimately resulted the bankrupt situation of the public sector universities. They have shown the unanimity of stance with the teaching community of the campus.
