3-Day Workshop on " Analytical Laboratory Management" at
NSMC
Laboratory management is vital for
diagnosis of diseases. Quality laboratory analysis help
physicians managing the ailments. Laboratory establishments for
different fields of study of medicine at Nawaz Sharif Medical
College (NSMC) are modern and highly qualitative. It is upto the
NSMC administration to make proper use of the technology and
equipments. The University of Gujrat (UOG) administration wants
to develop research based learning environment of Nawaz Sharif
Medical College at par with its campus. NSMC staff has shown
outstanding academic results within shorts span of time.
Participation of the experts from the reputed national
institutions shows that NSMC has due recognition among the
academia of medicine. It is hoped that other departments will
follow this move to stage the forum of exchange of expertise.
The UOG administration will support such academic moves
accordingly. The Govt. of Punjab wants to bring positive reforms
in the field education. Free of cost provision of the entry test
applications forms for the University of Health Science (UHS)
examination is an educational friendly step of the Government of
Punjab.
These views were expressed by the
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin while opening a
three day national workshop on “Analytical Laboratory
Management” here at Nawaz Sharif Medical College, Hafiz Hayat
Campus University of Gujrat.
The
workshop was organized by the department of biochemistry with
the collaboration of Pakistan National Accreditation Council
(PNAC). Earlier, the Principal NSMC Prof Dr Nasir Aziz Kamboh
welcomed the participants of the workshop, students, faculty and
the guests. He said that the academia invited for the exchange
of medical academic will help boots the learning of the students
and faculty at the college. He commended the Vice Chancellor’s
support for organizing such academic forum on different subject
of medicine. He also appreciated the role of the Vice Principal
Dr Tanveer Zia Qurashi and other faculty members in the efforts
transforming NSMC in to a research institution in the field of
medicine.
While concluding the opening session of
the workshop, HOD Biochemistry Department and Molecular Biology,
Dr Sajid Mehmood thanked the VC and participants of the
workshop. He hoped that the workshop will prove a landmark event
for learning of the subject related to the analytical laboratory
management.
After
the opening session, three speakers delivered their lecturers.
Among them were Vice Principal NSMC Dr Tanveer Zia Qurashi who
introduced the workshop and delivered a lecture on laboratory
management; Director Allied Health Sciences, foreign faculty
Prof Dr Makhdoom Ali Shah who talked on Occupational Health and
Safety and Dr Atique-ur-Rehman who delivered his lecture on
Accreditation of Management Laboratory.
