Flood Victims Support Program
University of Gujrat and Pakistan Army have decided to
collaborate together for the relief and rehabilitation of the
flood affected. A unit of Pakistan Army under the leadership of
colonel Mujahid Ali visited UOG and in a special meeting with
its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin, decided that
the Pak Army and UOG will work hand in hand for the
rehabilitation of the flood affected. In this context a special
committee comprising the following members has been constituted:
Registrar UOG Mr Akram Bhatti, Director Student Services Center
Ms Aneesa Rahat, Director A & C Ms Azra Ghani, Director Q & C Dr
Zafar Yab, Additional Registrar Media Sheik Abdul Rashid,
Additional Director External Linkages Mr Shahid Minhas, Deputy
Director Akthar Warraich and faculty members Mr Zahid Bilal, Mr
Tauqeer Ahmed, Mr Ghulam Mustafa to monitor flood relief
activities. Under its guidance ten UOG volunteers teams have
been organized, to collect funds and other items in kind and in
the company of Pakistan Army, deliver this direly needed relief,
to the affected people, with commitment devotion and honesty. A
monitory system to supervise these activities has already been
devised. Flood relief camps shall be set up in Gujrat and
Jalalpur Jattan jointly by UOG and the Pak Army, whereas joint
teams, shall collect funds at small towns like Karianwala,
Bhagowal, Tanda, Daulat Nagar, Fatehpur, Kunjah, Shadival and
Kotla.
Vice
Chancellor Dr Nizamuddin and Col. Mujahid Ali have both appealed
to the philanthropists in particular and people at large to
participate with heart and soul in this humanitarian projects
and contribute their maximum towards the devastated families. It
remains our human, national and religious duty to spare no
effort, for the help and relief of the calamity stricken
populace.
