A study tour from Chemistry Department visited Quaid-e-Azam
University (QAU) Islamabad. Students visited the department and
laboratories at the campus. They observed various research
projects being carried out by the M Phil and PhD students.
Students learnt intuitively about the projects, procedures and
equipments. They interacted with the students and faculty there
and shared different theoretical and practical aspects of the
discipline. The Head of Chemistry Department at QAU Dr Saqib Ali
briefed the students about the studies continuing there.
Students shared various theoretical queries with him. Dr Saqib
while commenting on the students learning aptitude remarked that
the interest of the UOG Chemistry students with the latest
research trends show that they have properly been guided and
persuasively motivated. He said that the interest of the
students in chemistry show that the curricula designed at the
UOG are modern and practically viable. While stressing the
significance of mutual interactivity among the varsities
departments, he remarked that the students learn more
significantly by sharing the ideas and expertise among
themselves. He expressed great satisfaction over the UOG
students learning capabilities. Faculty is successful in
capturing the interest of the students in basic science’s
subject. The study tour was arranged and guided by the HOD Dr
Shahzad Murtaza. Dr Ishfaq, Adil Abbas, Ms Shagufta also
accompanied the students.
On returning back to Gujrat, while sharing the outcome of the
tour with the students Dr Murtaza express satisfaction over the
learning aptitude of the students and pledged more study tours.
He said that the Vice Chancellor is very ambitious of practical
understanding of the students of industry oriented fields.
Industrial visits along with the academic will be arranged in
the future he added.
