A group of officers of Mid Career Management Course (MCMC) from
the National Institute of Management (NIM) Lahore with their
Directing Staff Dr Syed Asim Hussain visited Hafiz Hayat Campus here the other day. The group
comprised of the officers from District Management Group, Police
Department, Income Tex Department, Pakistan Customs,
Intelligence Bureau and the Ministry of Social Welfare. When
reached the Hafiz Hayat Campus, the delegates met with the Vice
Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin in his office. Registrar
Muhammad Akram Bhatti, Director Planning and Development Prof
Syed Shahbir Hussain Shah and Director School of Art, Design and
Architecture, Prof Fawad Khawaja was present on the occasion.
The delegates shared various educational matters of higher
learning of the campus with the VC. The Vice Chancellor briefed
the delegates about the students, faculty, research and academic
issues at the campus. The Vice Chancellor being sociologist and
a worldly renowned demographer gave a detailed view of the
comparison of Pakistani students with the students of advanced
countries. The Vice Chancellor while sharing the academic trends
of the students in Pakistan said that the UOG administration has
special focus of producing “para” staff in different
professional fields like medicine and engineering. He said that
there is room for producing para medical and para engineering
work force in our country. Pakistani workforce of such fields
has a reasonable market demand in the Middle Eastern countries,
he remarked. The VC explained various future plans at the Allied
Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Product Design
Centre. Later, the delegates moved around the campus and visited
School of Art, Design and Architecture, Pakistan Product Design
Center and the central library. The delegates were all praise
for physical and academic infrastructure established at the
varsity.
