
Nawaz Sharif Medical
College (NSMC) University of Gujrat has achieved second position in
the results of First Professional MBBS Examination conducted by the
University of Health Sciences Lahore in October 2009. Details revealed
that passing percentage of the students at NSMC remained 95.92 percent
while Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore remained first
scoring 96.03 and Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore remained third
with the passing percentage of 94.66 percent. According to the details
received at NSMC, 32 students among 49 scored more than 80 percent
marks with distinctions in different subjects. Among successful
students who crossed 400 marks are Arousha Naureen (443), Faisal Rafiq
Ahmed (420), Sara Altaf Awan (411), Rabia Abdul Ghani (409), Humaila
Rasul (405), Ahmad Uzair (403), Faiza Ilyas (403), M. Rashid Naveed
(402), Saad Rehman (402). Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat Prof.
Dr. Muhammed Nizamuddin, faculty and management staff congratulated
Principal, Nasir Aziz Kamboh, Vice Principal Col (retd) Tanveer Zia
Qureshi and faculty at NSMC for this unprecedented success. Principal
NSMC congratulated the students, faculty and administration for the
success. He specially quoted the sincere efforts of Dr Tanveer Zia
Qureshi who started the academic work at the college.
