Presentation on Socio-Economic Issues of Pakistan
Students of Community Psychology at MSc
Psychology 4th semester program portrayed their
presentations on socio- economic problems of the country.
Presentation work was as part of the psychology curriculum was
conducted under the auspices of class instructor Aliha Ghumman.
Students expressed their ideas collectively. Seven different
groups were formed to produce their presentations on the social
and economic issues like Unemployment, Terrorism, Poverty,
Energy Crisis, Child Labor, Drug Addiction and Inflation. The
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin visited the venue.
Registrar Muhammad Akram Bhatti, Associate Director Social
Sciences, Prof Dr Fozia Maqsood accompanied the Vice Chancellor.
The VC took keen interest while watching the presentations. He
discussed various dimensions of the subjects and asked questions
from the developers. He appreciated the students’ professional
acumen which he remarked, show the excellent learning in the
classrooms. While counseling the students, he suggested that
some subjects of research need field survey. He advised students
to learn know how of the survey research. He said that this
applied aspect of learning is crucial for the subject like
psychology. He expressed optimism that the psychology students
can help locating social issues facing Pakistan and further help
suggesting data based remedial strategies.
