The University of Gujrat is conducting research on contemporary
challenges of the modern day society. Research on elderly of
Punjab has opened more avenues of queries on ageing population
of the province. Giving environmental dimensions to women in
Pakistan has given a new trend of research on women issues. This
inter disciplinary approach is quite appropriate strategy to
assess human problems and finding the ways and means to settle
them accordingly. These views were shared by a renowned
researcher, demographer and professor at Ohio University, USA.
Prof Jhon Casterline talked in a seminar on “Emerging Research
Issues in Population and Social Sciences”. The seminar was
organized by the Centre of Population, Environment and Urban
Studies at the UOG.
