Research
is an integral part of the educational process. Writing thesis is
imperative for quality higher education. All necessary liabilities for
basic and social sciences research are available at the University of
Gujrat. Faculty at campus must promote a culture of research among the
students and guide them accordingly. Despite, we could produce a sole
batch of alumni of masters, the Higher Education Commission (HEC)
rated better to the University of Gujrat regarding its quality. HEC
has been generous to finance it. Nawaz Sharif Medical College is third
popular institution in the rating for medical education in the
country. It is all due to the University of Gujrat, the center place
of research opportunities for medical students. Faculty at Nawaz
Sharif Medical College and the UOG should try to be more interactive
with the students in curricular and co-curricular engagements while
ensuring mechanism of prompt feedback. These remarks were shared by
the Vice Chancellor while stressing the significance of research in a
weekly senior staff meeting in the Conference Room here at Hafiz Hayat
Campus. Meeting was attended by the senior directors of social and
basic sciences. Senior management staff was also present. Students’
affairs dominated the agenda of meeting. Vice Chancellor while
suggesting the measures of promotion of the betterment of the students
at varsity said that the faculty must evolve a strategy of fatherly
attachment. For the purpose more viable communication must be ensured.
Assessment of relationship with students must be judged through prompt
feedback. Vice Chancellor shared the participants various matters
regarding the standard of education, methods of teaching and
evaluation process. He discussed various suggestions and strategies on
the issues. While addressing the participants of the meeting, the Vice
Chancellor re-iterated his pledge of promoting the curricular and
co-curricular steps. He said that he merely has ambition to enhance
the quality of education, improving the standards of curricular and
co-curricular activities and hunting the capable faculty for NSMC and
the UOG. While stressing the effective communication with the
students, Vice Chancellor remarked that the society has been changed.
It has become difficult to achieve something without ensuring
appropriate communication. All faculty members must share openly and
viably with their students. It will serve both, the institution and
for the welfare of the students. Faculty can viably communicate with
the students and bridge the gap between point of views of both,
students and the varsity administration. On the occasion, the Vice
Chancellor made consultations on Students Work Program and other
matters relating the financial aid and fee concessions.
