15 Trucks loaded with rations food and eatables, have left for Swat, Mingora and Khawaja Khel under the leadership of Ms. Jehan Ara Nizam, for relief of the flood affected people of Kyber Pakhtoonkhwa. This flood aid Caravan has been dispatched by Prof Dr. Nizamuddin Vice Chancellor of the University of Gujrat. This sustenance is the result of joint efforts launched by UOG and the Pakistan Army. Within a week almost ten million rupees have been collected as donations by the people. The UOG employees earlier on contributed Rs. Six Hundred thousand towards the Flood Relief Fund. The student teams have been operative under the guidance and supervision of Ms. Aneesa Rahat, Director Students Services, Dr. Zafaryab and Colonel Mujahid Ali. At this momentous occasion, Prof Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin stressed the moral duty of all Pakistanees to come up to the expectations of nation and contribute towards the grief stricken, helpless, flood affected miserable countrymen who have bore the brunt of flood calamity. UOG will leave no stone unturned in providing succor to the devastated families. It remains our national religious moral and human responsibility. He hoped that this transmission of goods to the needy will continue (by the grace of God) till their rehabilitation. He highly appreciated the cooperation of the people of Gujrat. He was much moved by the sentiments shown by the people and the spirit of fraternity and humanity with which they devotedly contributed towards the relief fund. He extolled those philanthropists industrialists, businessmen traders and good hearted citizens who whole heartedly responded to the call of UOG, which also shows the confidence they hold in the UOG. We (by the grace of God) shall come upto the expectations of the people of Gujrat. We will always be at forefront for any national service. UOG shall (God willing) play a leading role in the role of Universities for national uplift and progress.
