Serving humanity indiscriminately for medical services is a great source of blessings. Students admitted for the learning of medical profession can use social paradigms for redressing human problems. Establishment of the Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC) in the public sector is a land mark achievement of the public and the leadership of the area of Gujrat. Institutional support of the University of Gujrat will convert NSMC into a research oriented leading institution for medical education in the country. Students at NSMC with the help of faculty and students of the UOG can serve their country by developing ‘national health profile’ of the population. Medical graduates from Pakistan  find better acceptance in the European and Middle Eastern countries. Establishment of University of Health sciences (UHS) Lahore will further improve the standards of Medical Education in the country. Students at NSMC University of Gujrat are lucky enough to avail the modern pedagogical techniques and research facilities in the very outset of their learning career. These remarks were passed by the Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin while addressing as chief guest in an orientation session of the new entrants of First Professional 2009 here at NSMC Conference Hall. On the occasion, students of the pioneer session at the college along with their faculty were also present. The senior faculty and management staff of the University of Gujrat also attended the welcome session. Parents and guardians of the students getting admitted for the new session were specially invited for the purpose. Proceeding of the orientation session started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Stage activities was performed by the Head of Anatomy Department Prof. Dr. Tauqeer Ahmad. While welcoming the students at NSMC, Principal Prof. Dr. Nasir Aziz Kamboh remarked that the new comers are lucky enough because NSMC is not mere an institution of medical education but the lap of the UOG has given it an environment of unique learning and upbringing. Parents of the students should feel completely satisfied as they have rightly handed over their off springs to the place committed for “mentee uplift”. Prof.Dr. Nasir Aziz  briefed about the various departments and faculty members at the college. He pledged to take care of the new entrants, academically as well as the basic living facilities. At last Vice Principal at NSMC, Dr. Tanveer Zia Qureshi thanked the VC and guardians of the students for gracing the inaugural session.
