The
Vice Chancellor Visits Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and
Industries(GCCI)
Assures All Help in Industry Academia Linkages
The University of Gujrat (UOG) is ready to play its role in the
promotion of mini industry of the area. Chamber of Commerce and
Business Support Fund should come forward to collaborate with the
varsity in this regard. If leadership at GCCI wants to excel in
the modern productions, the UOG will further promote industry
academia linkage. Local industrialists can avail the
consultations of the experts in the field of engineering, IT,
business management and art & design working at the campus.
These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin while addressing the members
of GCCI and Business
Support Fund. Vice Chancellor along with his
team was welcomed at the chamber, by its president Mr Imtiaz Ahmed and Senior
Vice President Sheikh Abrar Ahmad. They introduced
members of the GCCI with the Vice Chancellor. On the occasion
the chamber administration arranged a debating forum. The VC
presided over the session while Chairman Business Support Fund
was the chief guest. President GCCI Imtiaz Ahmad Mirza said that
it is a good omen for the industrialists of the area that the UOG
has become a renowned source of learning. He said that Pakistan
direly the industry academia linkages. He said that the UOG
administration has always cooperated in promoting
local industry. He urged representation of GCCI in the Syndicate
of the university.
The Chief Executive Officer, Business
Support Fund Saqib Mohyyudin on the occasion said that it is
very fortunate for the industrialists of the area that the UOG
administration is keen to promote the industrial interests of
the area.
He expressed hope that the UOG
admin will help promote the industrial units of the golden
triangle i.e. Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sialkot. He urged the
public sector varsities to follow the UOG in industrial academia
linkages so that they can fulfill the objective of the
establishment of the center of learning.
Senior Vice President of GCCI, Sheikh
Abrar Saeed also addressed the participants of the forum. He
said that industrialists should consistently maintain liaison
with the UOG to avail new research findings and expertise. He
paid gratitude to the UOG for its open offer of availing the
physical and academic infrastructure. Chairmen PEFMA also
addressed the participants of the session. He said that it is
imperative to compete the global market for exports.
He urged the cooperation of SME, BSF and the UOG to give impetus
to the fan industry- a viable export item in Pakistani exports.
The VC while talking informally to the members of the Chamber
said that our administration attaches great importance to
produce skilled labour for the market. The Vice Chancellor said
that our admin is serious in initiating two years Associate
Degree Program in Graphic Design, Finance & Accounting, Nursing,
Hotel Management, Product Design and Fine Arts. He said that the
UOG has started engulfing gap between the demand and production
of the skilled workforce in different industrial fields. He
urged the Chamber of Commerce to come forward to play its timely
role. Director SADA at UOG Prof Fawad Khawaja accompanied the VC
while visiting the Chamber. Later the President GCCI presented a
souvenir to the Vice Chancellor in the recognition of his
services in the field of industry academia linkages.
